Drinking water tanks

Zbiorniki wody pitnej

Drinking water tanks

They provide a source of water supply for water supply systems and networks. Our customers are state institutions as well as private companies in the food industry, where the tanks are a supply of water for production purposes.

Through the use of a membrane, specially designed for contact with drinking fluids, we create optimal conditions for keeping water clean and fresh. The membrane acts as a reliable protective barrier, effectively isolating drinking water from potential contaminants, bacteria or chemicals.

Our tanks meet the highest standards to ensure the storage of water in conditions of complete sterility and hygiene.

They are recommended by the National Institute of Public Health PZH - National Research Institute, certified by the Hygienic Attestation of PZH.

Design
drinking water tank

The tank is designed as a prefabricated modular structure bolted directly on the construction site, sealed with a synthetic membrane that excludes direct contact of water with the steel shell of the tank. We use high-quality materials whose surfaces in direct contact with stored water are protected by coatings with PZH hygienic approvals.

Detailed information:

The structure of the tank consists of hot-dip galvanized steel elements, in the inner part additionally coated with PZH-approved paint.

The cylindrical shell is made of bolted single steel sheets of standardized dimensions. The thickness of the metal sheets used depends on the size of the tank and the standard of its manufacture and is selected at the level of strength-static calculations made. The sheets are made of S350GD steel, double-sided galvanized with a zinc coating thickness of Z275, Z350 or Z600. The tank shell panels can be additionally powder painted in any color from the RAL package.

The plates are properly bored and the horizontal and vertical joints are bolted together. In the upper and lower parts, the tank is topped with a perimeter angle bracket.

Our tanks are sealed with either a prefabricated EPDM synthetic membrane that fits the dimensions of the tank, or with PVC film.

Waterproofing is prepared under production conditions. Prefabrication in advance allows constant control over the parameters of the material. The membrane undergoes detailed quality control before packaging and arrives at the construction site as a ready-to-install component. The pre-prepared membrane significantly reduces the installation time of the tank, allows installation even during severe frosts and increases the effectiveness of leakage tests.

The waterproofing installed in the tanks retains the required parameters for at least 30 years, which pays off with a long service life.

To protect the waterproofing from damage, we additionally use a layer of geotextile, laid directly on the tank foundation slab.

We give you a choice of three variants of covering the tank while maintaining its tightness.

The roof is made as a self-supporting structure, supported on Z type steel beams with a slope towards the center of the tank. Roof covering insulated from roof sandwich panels with a core of mineral wool or PIR protected from the inside with a coating suitable for contact with drinking water. Appropriately designed and profiled tongue-and-groove type locks, ensure very good tightness and quick installation.

The roof is made of polyester-glass laminate with layered construction of polyester resin and fiberglass. The mats and fabrics used for the construction of the roofing are qualitatively in accordance with the current Polish standards, or the standards of the European Union countries. The laminate layer on the side of the atmosphere is characterized by long-term resistance to UV rays and weather conditions. On the interior side, in turn, is characterized by long-term resistance to the effects of compounds and their condensates emitted under the overhead.

We also supply tanks with a roof in the form of a truncated cone. The supporting structure of the roof is steel, consisting of cassettes forming the side and keystone. The trapezoidal cassettes are made of steel, bolted between each other along the edges of the butt joints. The roof keystone is also steel, welded, and consists of a circular ring and vertical ribs evenly spaced on the outside of the ring. The roof structure is bolted. The roof is supported on the tank shell on a perimeter angle bracket.

For interior insulation, JRtech uses XPS boards, so-called styrodur, usually with a thickness of min. 40 mm. XPS is the undisputed leader among polystyrene insulation. It effectively insulates and protects the waterproofing from contact with the steel walls of the tank.

Mineral wool of any thickness is used for thermal insulation of the tank walls. From the outside, the mineral wool cover is made of trapezoidal sheets with T18 profile in commercially available RAL colors.

Laminated roofs supplied are insulated with PU foam with a standard thickness of 50mm. Tapered roofs can be made with Styrofoam or PIR insulation and covered with flat sheets in commercially available RAL colors.

kolorystyka zbiornika wody pitnej

Tank elevation and color scheme

To meet the expectations of the customer, we give the opportunity to choose the color of the tank.

The choice of the color of the facade allows it to match the architecture of the building. The tank can be made in the color of galvanized elements, or at the request of the customer, the panels of the tank shell, can be powder painted in any color from the RAL package.

Tanks with an exterior facade with a vertical profile can be painted in any RAL color from the available packages.

Serving our experience, we are also willing to take on challenges in the field of aesthetics. Being open to all proposals, we will help to make, for example, corporate advertising, which, with such large areas of tanks, can reduce the cost of expensive advertising banners and additional structures for their installation.

Tank equipment

Each tank is equipped with a set of technological lines required by the project. Their arrangement and size are related to the conditions of the connection.

At the level of execution of the detailed design, we assist in the selection of the optimal solution, taking into account field conditions, production and installation costs, or subsequent operation.

The tank is founded on a flat foundation slab made according to our guidelines. We can make it for you!

The piping is made of stainless steel, or PE material with PZH hygienic approval.

  • supply line, which can be terminated with a so-called free spout, one or two automatic float valves responsible for automatic filling of the tank;
  • Suction line with anti-vortex plate;
  • drainage pipe with a manual shut-off damper;
  • overflow line;
Depending on the specifications of the project, the pipes can be routed through the bottom (foundation slab) or through the wall (shell) of the tank.

  • A steel cage ladder to allow access to the roof made in accordance with current health and safety regulations;
  • A walkway, a platform with a guard rail, a service hatch located on the roof - allow access to the interior of the tank;
  • lower service hatch;
  • Electrical switchgear including heaters, water level probes and cable route within the tank;
  • tank designation.

Scope of work

We offer to prepare a complete construction project, technical and workshop documentation. We assist in obtaining a building permit acting comprehensively.

JRtech's basic scope of supply includes delivery with unloading: all tank components.

Installation of the tank is carried out using external hydraulic jacks. It consists in sequential lifting of the tank structure with simultaneous installation of internal insulation and waterproofing. After completion of the tank assembly, we proceed to the installation of the remaining equipment, i.e. technological pipes, water fittings, heaters and electrical switchgear with wiring.

After the installation is completed, the tank is ready to be filled and leakage test conducted. According to the standard, the duration of the leakage test for tanks with non-absorbent walls is 24 hours.

After filling the tank, we calibrate and check the correctness of the water level readings, the correctness of the heaters and communication with the Klinet system. We also take electrical measurements.

After the installation of the tank, we perform training on its operation. We teach the administrators of the facility how to make basic checks, e.g. daily, weekly, monthly. How to respond to operating emergencies and what periodic services to subject the device to.

Upon completion of construction, JRtech will execute and deliver as-built documentation with the necessary approvals and declarations.

Along with the completed construction and conducted acceptance, we provide a warranty card for the product and its operation. The warranty indicates the activities that should be performed to properly protect the tank and maintain an effective warranty.
